Q & A – Work to enter?

All will come to an end – This world and its fortunes.
The question is, when that day comes, what will you say you’ve done as a Christian, that is worth getting you into heaven?

This question is starting from the idea that we would be able to do any good works to earn ourselves an entrance into heaven.

The Bible however shows us that no human being ever, could earn his or her way into heaven, because:

We are saved through grace

Acts 15:11
We believe that we are saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, in the same way as they also are.

We are justified as a gift

Romans 3:24
being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus.

We are justified by faith and not by works

Romans 3:28
For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the Law.

Romans 11:6
But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works, otherwise grace is no longer grace.

Ephesians 2:8-9
⁸For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; ⁹not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.

We receive this because of God’s mercy.

Ephesians 2:4-6
⁴But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, ⁵even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), ⁶and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 4:7
To each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift.

May this grace of our Lord Jesus be with you all. (Revelation 22:21)
