Little Hank was often reckless.
Every time he did stupid things.
He was stubborn and often disobedient.
And this ofcourse often caused bumps and scratches.
And every time this happened, he ran crying to his mother.
Once Mother asked him, “Why do you always come to me, when you suffer wounds, after you again did stupid things, that I have forbidden you?”
With tears in his eyes the little boy answered the only thing he could say:
“Oh, Mommy, to whom else can I go, when I’m in pain?”
Then mother gave him three kisses on the sore spot and said: “Yes of course, you can always come to me when you hurt..!”
• Such is God, and much greater in grace, and in forgiveness.
• And so are we, by our guilt and sin, again and again bringing ourselves into misery.
I just hope we don’t blame it on God, saying, “Is that a God of Love, that allows so much bad things to happen in my life?” No, not God, but our sin, is the cause of all sufferings we experience.
And yet, we are allowed to go to God every time, and with all our problems.
Our Lord Jesus never rejected an I’ll person, or a sinner. Everybody was, and is, always welcome for healing and comfort.
To whom else but to God could you flee?
He is waiting with open arms on you!
