Matthew 22:1-14
⁴Again he sent out OTHER SLAVES saying, ‘Tell those who have been invited, “Behold, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and my fattened livestock are all butchered and EVERYTHING IS READY; COME to the wedding feast.”‘
The guests are called again… Again they are invited to the wedding feast.
The servants that brought the invitation, did NOT have a list of names of whom to invite. Neither do the ministers today. The joyful invitation of the gospel is FOR ALL that hear it. NO ONE IS EXCLUDED, only those that exclude themselves by ignoring the King’s invitation.
Will you accept His invitation?
Or will you exclude yourselves from those that enter?
The guests are CALLED upon, they are not only GRACIOUSLY INVITED, but also PERSUADED TO COME. Just like people in our days.
2 Corinthians 5:11,20
¹¹Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, WE PERSUADE MEN, but we are made manifest to God; and I hope that we are made manifest also in your consciences.
²⁰Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; WE BEG YOU on behalf of Christ, BE RECONCILED TO GOD.
Christ’s heart is set upon the HAPPINESS OF POOR SOULS!
He not only PROVIDES for them, in consideration of their want, but sends to them, in consideration of their weakness and forgetfulness an other invitation.
How often do you need to be invited into His Kingdom?
How long will you still doubt?
When you wait too long, time will decide for you, and like the 5 foolish virgins, you will be too late, and stay outside.
When the invited guests were UNWILLING to come, the king sent other servants, to invite once more.
Are the invitations, I daily write on the Internet, maybe your last invitation? Don’t delay, but come!
• The prophets of the Old Testament were not listened to,
• John the Baptist was not listened to,
• Even the Christ himself, who told them that the feast was almost ready (the kingdom of God was at hand) was not listened to.
And also today many people are not listening to God’s invitation.
After Jesus’s resurrection, the apostles and the ministers of the gospel were sent, to tell them, it is time to go, the feast is quite ready, and all of them persuade you to accept the offer.
The call to COME, and repent, pick up your cross, and follow Jesus, sounded upto the last page of the Bible, and it still sounds today.
Revelation 22:17 – The Spirit and the bride say, “COME.” And let the one who hears say, “COME.” And let the one who is thirsty COME; let the one who wishes, take the water of life without cost.
Behold, the dinner is prepared, all things are ready,
• The Father is ready to accept us,
• The Son is ready to intercede for us,
• The Spirit is ready to sanctify us,
– pardon is ready
– peace is read
– comfort is ready
– the promises are ready
– wells of living water are ready
• angels are ready to attend us
• creatures are ready to be in league with us
• providences are ready to work for our good,
• and heaven is ready to receive us.
It is a kingdom prepared, ready to be revealed in the last time.
Now all this is ready, shall we not be ready?
Now all this preparation is done for us!
Is there any room to doubt if we are welcome?
Come to the marriage feast !
2 Corinthians 6:1 – WE URGE YOU not to receive the grace of God in vain.
