Recently I saw many questions like “Why do people still have to go to hell, Jesus died for them, didn’t He?”
Well just imagine for a moment that you are in a fine restaurant and after enjoying a great meal the waiter comes to you for the payment.
Then a person you don’t know stands up and hands the waiter money to pay for your meal and tells you the account is settled.
Now it’s up to you.
You can accept his payment and be thankful for what he did, and ofcourse you want to learn to know this man and you become friends afterwards.
You can also refuse his payment.
So the waiter hands the money back to the other guest.
This means that from the moment you refused to accept, you still have an account which have to be paid.
You cannot leave the restaurant without paying first.
Now back to the question.
Jesus indeed paid our debts in full, but when we refuse His offering to the Father which He made for us, we still have debts, which we will have to pay in full ourselves.
So be wise and be very grateful for what Jesus did for you and follow Him on the narrow path to His Father’s house where he is preparing room for you too.
If you refuse, there is only one other destination, where you will have to pay your debts in full yourself.
I hope that this makes it a bit clearer to you and that you will take the right decision.
