Romans 8:5-18
¹¹But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead WILL ALSO GIVE LIFE to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
And so the life of a sanctified soul is the life of a living soul, which is at peace.
¹²So then, brethren, we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh – ¹³for IF YOU ARE LIVING ACCORDING TO THE FLESH, YOU MUST DIE; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, YOU WILL LIVE. ¹⁴For all who are being LED BY THE SPIRIT OF GOD, these are SONS OF GOD.
If anyone habitually lives according to corrupt lusts, they will, whatever they profess, certainly perish in their sins.
Let us then, by the Spirit, endeavour more and more to mortify the flesh.
Some people have the habit of saying one thing, but doing something entirely different. What you’re hearing may sound holy, but their actions are absolutely not. In this case their speaking is not honoring God, but it becomes a lie; it becomes just like their actions sin. And remember that actions speak louder than words.
Many speak peace to themselves, to whom God does not speak peace. But those who are sanctified, have God’s Spirit in them, Who is witnessing with their spirits, that they have true peace in their soul.
Though we may now seem to be losers for Christ, because of Him we shall not, we cannot, be losers in the end.
Sometimes people try to start discussions with me about menial things like the pronunciation of Jesus name. Whenever that happens I tend to walk away, and leave them, for I’m not here to win discussions, but to win souls for my Lord.
¹⁵For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a SPIRIT OF ADOPTION as sons by which we cry out, “ABBA! FATHER!” ¹⁶The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that WE ARE CHILDREN OF GOD,
When you are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, you know that you have the Spirit of Christ. That means that you are born again, that you have repented (had a 180° turn of mind and actions), that your stone heart is gone, and received a new heart from God. And that you now are, in some degree, Christ like, which will be shown by a life, and conversation, suitable to His precepts and example.
The children of God have the Spirit at work in them, and they are no longer under a spirit of bondage, but are free indeed. So don’t let yourself be bound again!
People may try to limit you in what you may or may not say when you speak about the Bible, but let nobody and nothing limit you to say, what your heavenly Father wants you to say.
¹⁷and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, IF indeed we SUFFER WITH HIM so that we may also be GLORIFIED WITH HIM. ¹⁸For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are NOT WORTHY TO BE COMPARED with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
You may because of following Him suffer for a while, but this is nothing compared to the glory that is following after this.
