Recently I was asked if a woman can wear clothing made for a man.
When a man clothes like a woman most people will not accept that as normal, but fashion had such an influence on women that most of them now think it is normal to dress like a man.
However the Law teaches us something completely different in Deuteronomy 22:5. There we read: “A WOMAN SHALL NOT WEAR MAN’S CLOTHING, NOR SHALL A MAN PUT ON A WOMEN’S CLOTHING; for whoever does these things is an ABOMINATION to the Lord your God”.
So the answer from the Bible is loud and clear “NO”.
I can hear the loud protests already coming. For protests are usually loud when I touch areas in life that people don’t like to change.
But we live in a different time now! You say. And you are right. We live now in an age where many rather listen to what satan whispers in their ears, than to what God tells them.
But that was only valid in Old Testament times.
The law is now not valid anymore! You say.
Who told you that?
Only the laws concerning the offering for forgiveness of sin have ended because in Jesus Christ the perfect lamb of God (John 1:29,36) for forgiveness of our sins was offered to the Father. (Isaiah 53:11)
The other laws are still valid.
Jesus himself said in Matthew 5:17-19: (17) “Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. (18) For truly I say to you, UNTIL HEAVEN AND EARTH PASS AWAY, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law UNTIL ALL IS ACCOMPLISHED. (19) Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Now the choice is yours.
Will you wear clothes like God in His word tells you to wear? Or will you rather listen to what the fashion gurus tell you that you must wear?
Will you let God lead you? Or will you let some fashion guru lead you?
