Matthew 2:15 NASB
He remained there until the death of Herod.
This was to fulfill what had been spoken
by the Lord through the prophet:
“Out of Egypt I called My Son.”
Devotional
The text for today is a quote from Hosea 11:1. It says: “When Israel was a youth I loved him, And out of Egypt I called My son”.
The Lord irresistibly and effectually delivered the people of Israel out of Egypt. The only begotten Son of God was also called out of Egypt.
Temporarily there had been no place for the Christ in the earthly Canaan, that a place might be made in the heavenly Canaan, for a people that should rightly be shut out.
So Christ was also called by the Father out of the Egypt of the dead.
On the third day God the Father raised Him from the dead.
Every man is because of his own faults in the house of bondage of sin, in Egypt.
▪︎ Do you have experience with that?
▪︎ Have you experienced the sighing, screaming and groaning because of hard servitude?
▪︎ Have you experienced that it pleased God to call you out of the crying and out of the distress from Egypt?
That calling is forceful and irresistible.
“So the chosen people of the Lord went out rejoicing at the lust of God.”
