Mark 6:30 AV
And the apostles gathered themselves
together unto Jesus,
and told him all things,
both what they had done,
and what they had taught.
The apostles had been sent by their Master to go through the land and preach the Gospel.
They had experienced both disappointment and joy.
That is actually always the experience of everyone who goes to do the work that the Lord has placed on the shoulders where God has placed him or her.
Whatever our work may be, we are to be publishers and proclaimers of Him whom we serve in the bottom of our hearts, in dealings and walk, in word and in deed.
And in the evening of the day we may say to the Lord all that has happened to us. In addition, there will always be gratitude when we think of the faithfulness and grace which, in all of this, was due to us from His side.
And on the other hand, we will remember with shame all that we have failed to do.
Thus we will begin each day on our knees, asking for help and favor, but also end on our knees, praying that the Lord make atonement for all the sinful things that clung to us.
