Yes, just rub the eyes out.
The third ‘therefore’ in this chapter does not apply to some cruel law, but to grace by law.
It not the blow of the executioner, but God’s love is the deciding factor.
Not an end, but a new beginning.
Hosea 2:14 NASB
Therefore, behold, I will allure her,
Bring her into the wilderness
And speak kindly to her.
The Lord is going to lure His sinful wife to the place where they declared their love to one another.., the desert. The Lord still remembers how cheerful and happy His wife was after her redemption.
She was singing. Singing from her God and LORD!
That is why the Lord brings her into the solitude of exile.
There He will speak to her, heart to heart.
This history has been preserved so that sinners who have forfeited Christ’s love do not despair, but go up to the Lord with encouragement and confess their guilt.
Come now! He’s been waiting so long.
