And all the TITHE OF THE LAND, whether of the SEED of the land, or of the FRUIT of the tree, is the LORD’S: it is holy unto the LORD. (Leviticus 27:30)
In the end IT WAS FOR THE LEVITES TO EAT. (Numbers 18:30)
All tribes received a piece of the land, except the levites, they were to work in the temple. The tithes served to give the levites food to live
Bring ye all the TITHES INTO THE STOREHOUSE, that there may be MEAT in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall NOT BE ROOM ENOUGH to receive it. (Malachi 3:10)
The words TITHES INTO THE STOREHOUSE, MEAT, and NOT BE ROOM ENOUGH, make it clear that this verse is not speaking about money
And verily they that are of the SONS OF LEVI, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to TAKE TITHES of the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren, though they come out of the loins of Abraham (Hebrews 7:4)
I know that many prosperity preachers, who by the way, mainly think about their own prosperity, like to act as if they are levites, and have to take tithes from their brothers.
I heard even somebody say: “I don’t like it either, but as you see, God commands me, to take that from you”. And no, he was not a levite, he called himself pastor (shepherd).
I don’t want to start a new discussion about this, I just want to show you what the Bible says.
