The plans come to a completion.
After the struggle in Gethsemane, Jesus was arrested there and brought before the high priest.
The plans to get rid of Jesus can now be carried out.
Injustice is rampant in the hall of the high priest.
But what would have been more painful to Jesus, what happens inside, or what happens outside?
Outside is Peter.
He remains the man of great words in his threefold denial: “Jesus? Never heard of him…”
Until the cock’s crowing brings him back to reality.
I have heard of Him; I belong to Him.
You know, of course, that we are not to look down on Peter.
But are we really not doing that?
His repentance also befits us …
