Wars and rumors of wars ( Mark 13:7 )
In Mark 13:5-6 Jesus started to say to them, “See to it that no one misleads you. Many will COME IN MY NAME, saying, ‘I AM HE!’ and will mislead many.”
How many have there been by now? Every time again we see someone standing up claiming to be someone special or important. Some said they were the Christ. Others said they are someone special because Jesus appeared to them. And many have come claiming that they are the replacement of Jesus on earth.
They are all all liars!
Jesus said that we should see to it that they will not mislead us, but still hundreds of thousands are following the instructions of these men who put themselves even above God’s word.
Then Jesus goes further telling us that we will hear of WARS AND RUMORS OF WARS, and NATION rising up AGAINST NATION, and KINGDOM AGAINST KINGDOM. But also that it should not frighten us, because it are things which must happen, it is NOT YET THE END.
He also told us that there will be EARTHQUAKES and FAMINES in various places on the world, and that these things are merely the BEGINNING OF BIRTH PANGS.
Further He warned us to be on our guard; for they will deliver us to the courts, and we will be flogged, and for His sake we will stand before governors and kings as a testimony to them.
But before the end is there, the gospel must first be preached to all nations.
Read now how this is written in the Bible
Mark 13:5-10
⁵And Jesus began to say to them, “See to it that no one misleads you. ⁶Many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He!’ and will mislead many. ⁷When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be frightened; those things must take place; but that is not yet the end. ⁸For nation will rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; there will be earthquakes in various places; there will also be famines. These things are merely the beginning of birth pangs. ⁹”But be on your guard; for they will deliver you to the courts, and you will be flogged in the synagogues, and you will stand before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them. ¹⁰The gospel must first be preached to all the nations.
