Luke 24:32 NASB
They said to one another,
“Were not our hearts burning within us
while He was speaking to us on the road,
while He was explaining the Scriptures to us?”
The Prince of Life wonderfully revealed Himself to both men during the meal.
Step by step, the great teacher has made Himself known to them, through the interpretation of the scriptures.
Now they can look back.
They cannot actually explain it all.
But they know this: their hearts were burning inside of them, when the Lord spoke to them on the road.
Divine light and divine fire filled their souls.
The Spirit of the Lord applied the Words of the Lord.
And now their hearts were completely engrossed in this explanation.
Such a talk, such an interpretation of the Scriptures, such an unfolding of the image of the Messiah, His agony and exaltation, they now live in it!
During the meetings, and in any other occasion where the Bible is opened, the word of the scriptures should be unfolded to us. How wonderful it is, when our soul is fed with His word.
Then the word becomes unspeakably rich and heartwarming to us
Prayer suggestion:
- Pray for the working of the Spirit, so that your heart may burn within you, whenever you hear or read His word.
