Question:
What do you mean by the rapture of the assembly?
Answer:
In the Bible we read in 1 Thessalonians 4: 16-17
¹⁶For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. ¹⁷Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord.
En in 1 Corinthians 15:51-53
⁵¹Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, ⁵²in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. ⁵³For this perishable must put on the imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality.
So it comes down to this, that in an indivisible moment, a supernatural change takes place with those who follow Jesus. Their earthly physical body changes into a heavenly spiritual body. And from that moment they are no longer of the earth, and therefore no longer subject to earthly laws. Also not to the law of gravity. The physical, material body, has then changed to immateriality and the mortal, to an immortal body (1 Corinthians 15:53)
A wonderful and supernatural event. Something that you cannot understand with your human mind. But the Bible says so, and we believe it.
Who takes part in the rapture?
All who are in the Christ.
In other words, all who have accepted the invitation to follow Jesus, all who have received Him, all who belong to Him, and for whom He is their Savior and Lord.
