1 Corinthians 14:12
So also you, since you are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek to abound for the edification of the church.
To make sure you understand what I mean: The church is the body of Christ, and it consists of people who believe in the Lord Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
Many are looking for spiritual gifts, just to stand out from the rest. But that is not what they are meant for, so don’t be amazed that you are not receiving it.
Some want it so much, especially the speaking in tongues (speaking in strange languages), that they will fake it, just to stand out or belong to the group. But be aware that you cannot do such unpunished.
And when did belonging to a group of people become more important than belonging to the Christ
When I mention the church, I mean both, the universal church, and the local church, without looking at any denomination.
▪︎ The universal church are all true believers in the Christ from all over the world.
▪︎ The local church are all true believers in the Christ from a particular geographical area.
As Christians you should (if possible) be in contact with a local church and have fellowship with other believers.
Be concerned about your assembly, and use your spiritual gifts, and other resources to bless the members.
Continue to develop yourself in the Word of God, and take advantage of the time, and given opportunities,k to enhance your spiritual gifts, talents, and skills. So you may grow to be a blessing to the body of Christ.
