Question:
In Mark 15:34 we read
At the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?” which is translated, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”
Does this mean that jesus at some point felt that God didn’t listen to Him, or cared for Him?
Answer:
God is holy and just, and He cannot have a relationship with sin.
So when Jesus took all of our sins upon Him, Jesus became sin, and the Father had to leave Him.
In 1 John 1:6 we read:
If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth
This makes clear to us that when we have sin in us (walk in the darkness) we cannot have fellowship with God.
Neither could Jesus when He had all the sins of the world on Him
