Matthew 10:32
Whosoever therefore
shall confess me before men,
him will I confess also
before my Father which is in heaven.
Devotional
The providence of God is over all things.
Therefore, God’s children should not shrink when asked to stand up for the name and cause of the Lord.
They should not be afraid of losing their lives, for the Lord reigns over all things.
If necessary, there should be a willingness to accept martyrdom.
To encourage confession, a rich promise is added: “I will confess him also before My Father which is in heaven.”
Christ will recognize such as His true disciples.
Of themselves God’s children do nothing but deny, for they are so fearful in themselves.
Prayer suggestions
- Ask the Lord that you may exercise faith in His providence.
- Ask the Lord that you may confess His Name in any company.
- Ask the Lord to give you courage to stand up for Your Word and Truth.
- Ask the Lord to give you courage to glorify His Name, no matter how much reproach is heaped upon it.
