Matthew 5:25 NASB
Make friends quickly with your opponent at law while you are with him on the way, so that your opponent may not hand you over to the judge, and the judge to the officer, and you be thrown into prison.
Devotional
How different it would look if the above words were more put into practice.
Fallen man is not yielding by himself.
False love to himself often blinds himself to such an extent that he thinks he is right in the worst cases.
People often stand motionless and stubbornly on their right.
Did you do it too?
Are relationships disrupted as a result?
▪︎ Relationships in the family circle?
▪︎ Relationships in the church community to which you belong?
▪︎ Relationships with your neighbors?
▪︎ Or relationships in the home where you stay?
That needs to change.
True conversion is needed for a different attitude, from within.
Stop standing on your own right.
May the Lord grant that by yielding you may gain peace and friendship, that disturbed relations may be restored.
An amicable settlement should be sought in the event of differences of opinion on all kinds of matters. Argued tendencies must be fought and curbed.
Don’t insist on your right, rather give in, even to your loss.
