Mark 14:27
And Jesus said to them,
You will all fall away, because it is written,
I will strike down the shepherd,
and the sheep shall be scattered.

They will all stumble.
They will stumble upon Him.
▪︎ To have such a Master, Who was imprisoned in the Garden?
▪︎ A Rabbi, handcuffed like a criminal?
What has become of all their expectations?
It has ended in disgrace.
The disciples will soon all flee through the night in panic.
Peter will even publicly deny the Master with oaths and curses. He will say that he does not belong to Jesus of Nazareth. Suppose they too would catch Peter just like the Lord. Peter said, perhaps with a loud voice, “I do not know the man!”
They could not participate.
Neither do you. And I even less.
We have no share in the work of redemption.
He did it alone. The only thing we can do is come out in our shame.
This night you will all be offended because of me. Peter too, who thought he was the only exception.
You may have thought that too: that will not happen to me.
But it happens. It is only He. None of the nations was with Him.
