Luke 24:17 KJV
And he said unto them,
What manner of communications are these
that ye have one to another, as ye walk,
and are sad?
Why do you look sad?
You can read from the face the condition of the mind.
Even the way in which one walks, sometimes betrays what is going on in the heart.
Going straight up, walking in a normal speed, often indicates a happy mood.
But going slow with bent shoulders, tell of inner discouragement and sorrow.
The good and compassionate High Priest sees that.
And he knows what’s going on.
He knew that, before He came to them, for His eyes run through all the earth.
2 Chronicles 16:9 NASB
For the eyes of the Lord move to and fro
throughout the earth
that He may strongly support those
whose heart is completely His.
But this is His teaching method.
He has His wise ways to teach a person.
Why sad? Is there reason for that?
And frankly, there was no reason at all. For the Lord Himself had said that He would rise on the third day. That was not said in secret. He said He had to suffer. Moreover, the angels had been to the tomb and the women had conveyed their message well. So there was no reason to be sad.
But they had kept the words like it was only chatter of women, for two disciples had gone to the grave, and although they found it as told, they had not seen Him. And that was what it was all about for them.
They heard it all, but they didn’t understand, the message didn’t reach their hearts.
Prayer suggestion:
▪︎ Ask God that His messages will always reach your heart.
