Matthew 12:50
Whoever does the will of My Father who is in heaven, he is My brother and sister and mother.
Actually Jesus said, that those who do the will of His Father belong to His family.
A family, is a group of persons who are united by the ties of marriage, blood, or adoption, constituting a single household and interacting with each other in their respective social positions.
When you do the will of God, you are tied to the Family, by the blood of Jesus.
Once we did not belong to God’s own, we were even hostile to Him, and to everything that He offered us. We even resisted the offer of God to become His adopted children.
But now, if you received Him, you are able to become God’s child, and be one with all in His royal household.
John 1:12
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name,
What a great thing it is, that we are even invited into His family, so we can call the almighty God our Father, and not only call Him Father, but He also really is.
It is only because of Jesus, that this way to the Father is now open to us.
John 14:6
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.
Jesus, the Christ, truly is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one can go to the Father except through Him.
I read in an article that Jesus, by saying this (Matthew 12:50), redefined the family in relation to God’s will. But this is not correct.
They said that usually, the family is thought of as a group of people who are related to each other. But now Jesus says that whosoever does the will of God belongs to the family, eventhough they have no relationship.
The writer of this article however failed to see that the relationship of His family is
▪︎ in belonging to God,
▪︎ in following the Christ together,
▪︎ in being tied together by the blood of Jesus,
▪︎ in the fact that we all call Him our Father.
The Kingdom of God is only open to those
▪︎ who do the will of our heavenly Father,
▪︎ who belong to Him,
▪︎ who are a part of His royal family.
Dear friends, if you say that you are a born again Christian, but you do not do the will of God, than you do not belong to God’s family.
This should stir you up to finding the will of God for you, so you may fulfill His will in your life. You will find His will by daily reading your Bible, and praying to Him.
Also ask God for grace to fulfill His will.
