Matthew 2:5-6
⁵ …this is what has been written by the prophet: ⁶’And you, Bethlehem, [in the] land of Judah, are by no means [the] least among the leaders of Judah; For out of you shall come forth a Ruler Who will shepherd My people Israel.’
It was not accidentally that Jesus was born in Bethlehem. It was known to the people. Through His prophets, God had already foretold His Birth, hundreds of years before. And also Herod’s religious advisors could tell him that the Messiah was to be born in the old city of David.
The birth of the promised Messiah would occur in the city of Israel’s great King (David). This was God’s plan, and this was God’s promise.
And for us it is a reminder that God
▪︎ always keeps His word,
▪︎ always sticks to His plan,
▪︎ and always fulfills His promises.
Prayer suggestions:
▪︎ Thank God that He will always unfold His plans.
▪︎ Ask God to remind you in your darker moments, that He always fulfills His promises and will bring your deliverance right on time.
▪︎ Ask God to give you patience to wait faithfully, and to live courageously, for your salvation to be fully revealed.
