Matthew 7:22-23
²²Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your nameh perform many miracles?’ ²³And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’
▪︎ So we can prophesy, and still be on our way to hell…
▪︎ So we can cast out demons, and still be on our way to hell…
▪︎ So we can perform miracles, and still be on our way to hell…
But there is more to it.
Religion does not save.
Acts 4:12
And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.”
▪︎ So we can read the Bible many times from cover to cover, and still be on our way to hell…
▪︎ So we can attend all church services, maybe even have a function in the church, and still be on our way to hell…
▪︎ So we can attend all Bible study meetings, and gather a lot of knowledge, and with all that knowledge, still be on our way to hell…
▪︎ So we can attend all prayer meetings, and appear to be a pious person, but still be on our way to hell…
▪︎ So we can attend all fellowship activities, and whatever more the church may organize, and still be on our way to hell…
▪︎ So we can be the best singer in the church choir, and still be on our way to hell…
▪︎ To the world around you, you may seem to be a good Christian, but still be on your way to hell…
▪︎ People may want to praise you for what you are doing, or thank you for a word that God gave, but you should never receive praise that belongs to God. Be warned, while stealing honor from God, you may be on your way to hell.
▪︎ You may preach the Gospel,
▪︎ You may win souls,
▪︎ You may have an anointing,
▪︎ You may speak in tongues,
▪︎ You may see visions,
▪︎ You may dream dreams,
▪︎ You may have all spiritual gifts,
▪︎ You may be rich, or poor,
▪︎ You may be powerful and influential
This all will not help you to enter God’s Kingdom.
Only a true relationship with the Father, Who in Jesus opened the way to Him, will bring you to, and keep you on the narrow way, to the Father’s house, where Jesus prepares a place for you.
John 14:2-3
²In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. ³If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.
We need to live a holy life, to be able to live close to the Father.
Hebrews 12:14
Pursue peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no one will see the Lord.
Leviticus 20:7-8
⁷You shall consecrate yourselves therefore and be holy, for I am the Lord your God. ⁸You shall keep My statutes and practice them; I am the Lord who sanctifies you.
Psalms 96:1-4
¹Sing to the Lord a new song; Sing to the Lord, all the earth. ²Sing to the Lord, bless His name; Proclaim good tidings of His salvation from day to day. ³Tell of His glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among all the peoples. ⁴For great is the Lord and greatly to be praised; He ihs to be feared above all gods.
Keep following Jesus on that narrow way, and stay close to Him.
