The letter to the Hebrews end with these words:
Hebrews 13:20-21
²⁰Now the God of peace, who brought up from the dead the great Shepherd of the sheep through the blood of the eternal covenant, even Jesus our Lord, ²¹equip you in every good thing to do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
Like you may end your letter with “Wishing you all the best”, the writer to the Hebrews wished them: “May the God of peace, equip you with everything good for doing his will“. His wish reached much deeper.
A good shepherd not only feeds his sheep, and takes care for them, he also equips his sheep with all that they need to face the trials of life.
Psalms 23 reminds us, that no shepherd equips his sheep like the ultimate Shepherd. Let us therefore always stay close to Him.
