Exhort (Encourage) one another daily, while it is called today; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
How serious do you take sin?
The Bible reminds continually how seriously God takes it.
We all have a BIG PROBLEM.
The problem is that God is good, and we are not.
And what do you think a good, holy, and just God will do with us who are evil, unholy, and unjust?
Hell is waiting!
There is NO WAY we could even exist near Him,
UNLESS… unless we are completely changed, we need not only to repent, to turn around 180°, but we have to be completely RENEWED.
We ALL need a new mind, and a new heart.
We ALL need to be BORN AGAIN !
Sin can entice us, entrap us, and ultimately win us over, in such a way, that we don’t even recognize sin, to be sin anymore.
We get used to it, as it is EVERYWHERE !
Everywhere around us we are confronted with it, from the moment we open our eyes, till the moment we close them again, on the television, on the radio, on your work, in the stores, all we hear or see is sin, or connected with sin.
And if we are not watchful we will join in with it, together with the rest of the world.
But we should be different!
We should not be, and act like the world,
We should be Christ-like!
This is something what we impossibly can do on our own.
For this we need God’s Spirit and do we need to be BORN AGAIN.
Christian friends, who encourage each other to stay on the narrow way, can be a great help to overcome sin, and will help you not to become “hardened through the deceitfulness of sin”.
Prayer suggestions:
• Pray God, that He will open your eyes for the deceptions of sin.
• Pray God, that He will help you to see who needs your encouragement today.
• Pray God, that He will guide you, so you may escape sin’s traps.
