Friends, we have a problem.
A huge problem. So huge that if nothing was done about it, we all would end up in hell.
The Bible says in Romans 3:23 that we have all sinned, and therefore come short of the glory of God.
You can’t change your past, but you can determine your destiny by deciding for Christ.
And Christ can change your past. He died on the cross so that all sins you’ve ever committed, all the things you’ve ever done wrong, can be forgiven and wiped out from your past.
What do you have to do to get rid of your sins?
You have to repent of your sins!
That means that you must be willing to change your mind, and doing so to change your way of living.
I have decided to follow Jesus, and I really hope you do the same.
You may have no power to change, so let Jesus help you.
You may not have the power to give up some of your sins. You find to much pleasure in it.
Some of you may do wrong to your colleagues, and somehow you find that funny.
Some of you may not live in a right relationship with your wife, because of “fun” you have with your friends, or because of some kind of addiction.
Some of you may have found a new god in sports, or whatever else, and the time you could use to honor Him Who died for you, is now given to that other god.
Again, you may not have power to change and choose rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season as we read in Hebrews 11:25.
You need to be changed, and leave the world and its pleasures, and it’s gods behind you. But it is your choice, it is your decision!
Which is it for you?
Who are you choosing?
Who are you voting for?
Are choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season?
Oh yes, there is joy in sin.
The joy of sin is present for a short time, but it’s soon over.
The hangover, the nasty, or guilty feeling will follow, and there’s nothing you can do about it.
It’s going to be there.
You know, when choosing for the Christ there’ll never be a hangover.
There will be joy and peace instead.
I’ve seen broken lifes being healed again.
I’ve seen broken marriages being healed again.
I’ve seen broken hearts being healed again.
That could be your share as well.
But it takes a decision.
It is urgent to take a decision.
And it is urgent to take the right decision!
For indecision in itself is a choice as well.
If you have not yet decided whether or not you will buy a train ticket to travel to some city. And you can’t decide whether or not you will go… If you wait long enough, till the departure time of the train has passed, the choice will have been made for you.
You’ll see the train go, without you on it.
Decisions are made whether we make them or not. You have to put your will on it. Are you willing to follow the Christ or not?
It is in the depths of your heart where the greatest battle of life must be fought. That is your decision about Christ.
Your parents cannot do that for you
Your family cannot do that for you
Your pastor cannot do that for you
And your church cannot do that for you.
You have to decide yourself, and you have to take the decision urgently, before you will be too late, and the decision is taken for you.
If you, who is reading this, are not sure that you’re ready to meet God, if you’re not sure you’re going to Heaven, if you’re not sure that your sins are forgiven, than make sure today!
I have some 20.000 friends on Facebook, and millions are receiving my messages in groups or otherwise, and I believe that none of you received this message by accident, and I believe that you’re reading this to open up a new way of life for you by receiving Him.
Together with the promise we received in John 1:12 “But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name”.
Now take a moment of prayer, and tell Jesus in your own words that you will follow Him from now on.
