A young mother had been ill for months, laying in front of the window.
She had to watch all this time
▪︎ how difficult housekeeping went without her daily worries,
▪︎ how the children fell short,
▪︎ How difficult it was for her husband.
By grace she knew she was a child of God.
And there were days when she could leave everything quietly to her Heavenly Father; but there were also days and nights when it stormed inside her.
Once, when the doctor visited her, she was in such a despondent mood again.
“Make me well, doctor,” she said. “I have to get better.
My ship is going down. No one in the house can direct the case. “
The doctor leaned forward and looked her straight into the sad eyes.
“Patience,” he said, “only patience can help.”
“Haven’t I been patient long enough?” she asked. “Patience will come to an end.”
“But you are a faithful Christian, aren’t you?
I thought you were drawing on inexhaustible resources!” He said with a smile.
Color came back to the pale face and she said slowly:
“Thank you, doctor! The Source is inexhaustible, but I cannot draw well!”
