let us press on to know the Lord.

John 7:14-18
¹⁴But when it was now the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and began to teach.
¹⁵The Jews then were astonished, saying, “How has this man become learned, having never been educated?”
¹⁶So Jesus answered them and said, “My teaching is not Mine, but His who sent Me.
¹⁷If anyone is willing to do His will, he will know of the teaching, whether it is of God or whether I speak from Myself.
¹⁸He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but He who is seeking the glory of the One who sent Him, He is true, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.
This is life eternal: to know the only true God and Jesus Christ whom God has sent.
We spend much time trying to know.
For years we go to school. Some go to college or university and spend additional years to know the work of a scientist, a doctor, a lawyer, a teacher, a preacher,
or some other profession.
Hosea wanted that same urge to push us forward in the things of God. Too often we are content to stay in the kindergarten of the school of the spirit.
We show too little concern for those who cannot read the ways of God in life or write His will in their daily lives.
We do want to know God, but it is hard to do what is so necessary – to follow on, to know Him.
What does it mean to follow on, to know Him?
We spend a little time in reading our Bibles, a bit in prayer, attend Sunday school and church more or less.
But to follow on, to know, means really to study the Bible, to practice daily the advice of Jesus when He said that anyone who does His will shall know.
It means to search out the ways of God in the life of the world all around us.

▪︎ Thank the Lord that you can know Him through His Son, Jesus, the Christ.
▪︎ Thank the Lord that He has done His part to help us to know the way of the Spirit.
▪︎ Ask the Lord to help you in following Him, and to know Him,and the power of His salvation.
