Moving from Church to Church
Acts 1:21-23 NASB
²¹Therefore it is necessary that of the men who have accompanied us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us – ²²beginning with the baptism of John until the day that He was taken up from us – one of these must become a witness with us of His resurrection.
²³So they put forward two men, Joseph called Barsabbas (who was also called Justus), and Matthias.
King James Version
²¹Therefore, of these men who have accompanied us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us, ²²beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection.
²³And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.
Finding a permanent local church brings rest to a troubled soul.
It is not the will of God for His children to be moving from church to church aimlessly.
His will is for us to search for and find a local church that believes and uses the Holy Bible and also practices the doctrines of Jesus Christ.
The will of God is for us to belong to one local church at a time, where we receive the nourishment of the Word of God, and give our offerings.
Consistency in membership brings many blessings. Matthias and Justus were appointed because they had followed Jesus Christ from the beginning till His ascension.
And Matthias was voted to replace Judas Iscariot, who took his own life because of his guilty conscience for betraying the Messiah.
Dear friends, learn from Matthias and Justus, and be a member of one local church instead of moving from church to church. Then God will visit and reward you.
Not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.
Be loyal to your church!
▪︎ Thank the Lord for His Word.
▪︎ Ask the Lord to lead you by His Spirit to find a suitable church for your soul to the praise of His name.
