Let us read what the Bible tells us
(Ephesians 1:10, Ephesians 1:22-23 KJV)
(10) That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; {even} in him: (22) And hath put all {things} under his feet, and gave him {to be} the headover all {things} to the church, (23) Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
(Colossians 1:13, Colossians 1:18 KJV)
(13) Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated {us} into the kingdom of his dear Son: (18) And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all {things} he might have the preeminence.
(Matthew 16:15-18 KJV)
(15) He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? (16) And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. (17) And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed {it} unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. (18) And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
(Ephesians 2:20-22 KJV)
(20) And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner {stone}; (21) In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: (22) In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
(Ephesians 3:15, Ephesians 3:21 KJV)
(15) Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, (21) Unto him {be} glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
(Ephesians 5:23-27, Ephesians 5:29 KJV)
(23) For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. (24) Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so {let} the wives {be} to their own husbands in every thing. (25) Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; (26) That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, (27) That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. (29) For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:
(Colossians 2:10,19 KJV)
(10) And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: (19) And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.
(Romans 12:4-5 KJV)
(4) For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: (5) So we, {being} many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.
(1 Corinthians 12:12-28 KJV)
(12) For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also {is} Christ. (13) For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether {we be} Jews or Gentiles, whether {we be} bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. (14) For the body is not one member, but many. (15) If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? (16) And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? (17) If the whole body {were} an eye, where {were} the hearing? If the whole {were} hearing, where {were} the smelling? (18) But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. (19) And if they were all one member, where {were} the body? (20) But now {are they} many members, yet but one body. (21) And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. (22) Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary: (23) And those {members} of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely {parts} have more abundant comeliness. (24) For our comely {parts} have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that {part} which lacked: (25) That there should be no schism in the body; but {that} the members should have the same care one for another. (26) And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it. (27) Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. (28) And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.
(1 Thessalonians 5:12-13 KJV)
(12) And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; (13) And to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. {And} be at peace among yourselves.
(Hebrews 13:7, Hebrews 13:17 KJV)
(7) Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of {their} conversation. (17) Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that {is} unprofitable for you.
(Ephesians 4:11-12 KJV)
(11) And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; (12) For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
(Acts 2:41-47 KJV)
(41) Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added {unto them} about three thousand souls. (42) And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. (43) And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles. (44) And all that believed were together, and had all things common; (45) And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all {men}, as every man had need. (46) And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, (47) Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
(Psalms 133:1 KJV)
(1) Behold, how good and how pleasant {it is} for brethren to dwell together in unity!
