Devotional
Always impressive. Goliath.
Not a pleasant meeting for Israel.
He embodies in its full length the power of the Philistines.
The Philistines cared for their empire.
Their name, honor and power were of importance.
Their culture was a real begetting culture.
They were all about producing.
Goliath was a good product.
Everything about him evokes admiration.
Awesome by nature and even more awesome with the help of technology.
Is not this Philistine the image of man, of mankind in the apostasy of the living God?
He is also the image of man today in his enmity and self-preservation towards God. uncircumcised.
Now set Israel against that. circumcised.
Contrast that with the Church. baptized.
Called to be completely different.
We small, and God great.
What a temptation for you and me: to bring forth giants!
Raising people with a view to science and technology.
Sounding grades, degrees, career.
Let us make a name for us.
It is the Lord’s doing for the glory of His name.
hallowed be thy name!
