Two brothers together owned a field.
After bringing in the harvest, they went to bed.
But both could not fall asleep.
The oldest was thinking: It is not fair that I get half the proceeds. I am alone and my brother has a family to take care of. He got up, went into the field, took three sheaves of wheat, and put them with his brother’s portion.
The youngest thought: It is not fair that I get half the proceeds. My children will take care of me later. But who takes care of my brother? He got up, went into the field, took three sheaves of wheat, and put them with his brother’s portion.
The next morning they were amazed.
There were as many loose sheaves on each part.
They said nothing and did the same the second night …
The third night they were again moving the sheaves, but they met each other in the middle of the field.
Then they understood what had happened.
They were moved and hugged each other.
