Luke 24:47 NASB
Repentance for forgiveness of sins
would be proclaimed in His name
to all the nations,
beginning from Jerusalem.
In His Name repentance and forgiveness of sins must be preached, among all nations, starting at Jerusalem.
We are pointed today to the preaching “in His Name.”
You may have something else on your mind than thinking about a sermon you heard. And that devotional? I will just klick on like, so they know I have received it.
▪︎ Continually your attention is asked for Corona.
▪︎ Continually your attention is asked for all kinds of activities in this busy hectic life.
No, you have no time to consider what the preacher said.
BUT…
▪︎ Do you realize that you have a Bible in your house, just because He spoke the above words?
▪︎ Do you realize that you could listen to that sermon, just because He spoke the above words?
▪︎ Do you realize that you can read these devotionals, just because He spoke the above words?
And that this preaching is not done by order of a church, or church council, but “in His name”, on His commission!
Is that how you receive the preached word?
Do you see Him standing behind the preacher?
And then, what has the preacher to declare?
▪︎ Repentance!
▪︎ That you must turn away from all modern idols, and return to the living God!
▪︎ That the Lord is only satisfied, when your heart, and your life, are completely changed and renewed.
▪︎ That He requires you, and me, to kill all sinful habits, and leave all evil practices. That is a hard but just requirement. After all, he is our Creator. He is therefore entitled to our entire life!
