Psalms 1:4-6
⁴The wicked are not so,
But they are like chaff which the wind drives away.
⁵Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
Nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
⁶For the Lord knows the way of the righteous,
But the way of the wicked will perish.
The evil-doers, the ungodly, are not so; as described in previous verses,
▪︎ They do not delight in the law of the Lord,
▪︎ Their mind is not on God’s law,
▪︎ They are not like a tree planted by the water,
▪︎ They do not give their fruit at the right time,
▪︎ And they will not do well in all their undertakings.
But they are like the dust from the grain, which the wind takes away.
There also will be no mercy for sinners when they are judged, and the evil-doers will have no place among the upright, because the Lord sees the way of the upright, but the end of the sinner is destruction.
We know that satan likes to make use of those who are crafty like himself
Genesis 3:1
Now the serpent was more crafty
than any beast of the field
which the Lord God had made.
And he said to the woman,
“Indeed, has God said,
‘You shall not eat from any tree of the garden’?”
The satan uses the ungodly, especially those who appear to be Christians, against those who follow Him, bringing in all kinds of ideas to take away our attention from God.
I warn you not to fall into his tricks.
▪︎ Like with Eve he may start with a lie, or with a tricky question to get your attention, and following on that, mislead you.
▪︎ Or he may give you ideas by which you may feel yourself to be above or better than others. (Pride)
Psalms 1 shows us, like many other Bible verses, what the end of the wicked will be. So don’t be worried about them. They will perish if they do not repent. Just make sure that they don’t take your attention away from that which really matters.
Dear friends, I cannot emphasize enough how important it is to stay focused, to keep fixing our eyes on Jesus, Who is the author and finisher (perfecter) of faith.
