Imagine for a moment that you are Adam.
God’s breath has just brought to life, and He smiles at you, while He pulls you up from the ground.
From that moment His face lights up, every time He looks at you. Life really is perfect.
Yes, life was perfect, until you did that one thing that God told you not to do. Because of that act of rebellion, by which you actually rejected God and His commandment, you separated yourself from God and His perfect love for you.
From that very moment, your life, which was meant to be a life in eternal closeness to God, becomes a life of eternal separation from Him.
This is what happened in the first part of Genesis.
But thanks to God, this is not the end of the story
Even though we people have messed up, God gives us a promise.
He will send someone to mend our brokenness, and restore our relationship with Him.
The birth of the Christ marks the arrival of God’s promise. The Creator took the form of a baby and literally became “God with us.”
Because of Jesus birth and death on the cross, now anyone who chooses to believe in the Christ, and follow Him, can again experience that permanent joy, that only comes from knowing God personally.
I would like you to reflect on what the coming of our Savior really means to people in general, and especially to you.
We were all trapped in perpetual separation from God, but thank God, Jesus became “God with us.”
Prayer suggestions:
▪︎ Thank God that because of His coming to earth in the form of a human baby, we can experience unending joy again.
▪︎ Ask God to help you to appreciate the birth of your Savior in a new way.
▪︎ Ask God to let the joy of the Gospel grow in you more and more.
