Ephesians 6:16–18 (KJV)
¹⁶Above all (in addition to all), taking [up] the shield of faith, wherewith (with which) ye shall (will) be able to quench (to extinguish) all the fiery darts (flaming arrows) of the wicked (of the evil one). ¹⁷And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. ¹⁸Praying always (pray at all times) with all prayer and supplication (petition) in the Spirit, and watching (be on the alert) thereunto (with this in view) with all perseverance and supplication (petition) for all [the] saints”
The Christian life cannot be lived without faith. That is why we all need to walk in faith as long as we live.
Keep in mind that from
▪︎ the moment you cease from walking in faith,
▪︎ the moment you don’t take God’s word so seriously anymore,
▪︎ or your eyes are not on Jesus anymore
your life becomes natural, and you begin to fall prey to weaknesses of the natural man and the devices of the enemy.
Matthew 14:30
But [Peter] seeing the wind, he became frightened, and beginning to sink, he cried out, “Lord, save me!”
In the verses we started with, the Apostle Paul listed the components of the armor of God for the Ephesian church, and told them to be aware of the fact that once they started to follow the Lord.
They were in a constant battle with the forces of darkness, and the pressures of this world; and they, because of that, needed to arm themselves continually, to protect themselves, and to win the battle.
The same counts for all of us!
You must have faith in God for without faith you cannot please God, and you will lose this battle.
Hebrews 11:6
Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.
Dear friends, please don’t wait till you see things with your eyes, or feel things with your body. Don’t be like Thomas who said that he only would believe, after he saw, and felt.
John 20:25-29
²⁵So the other disciples were saying to him, “We have seen the Lord!” But he said to them, “Unless I see in His hands the imprint of the nails, and put my finger into the place of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.” ²⁶After eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors having been shut, and stood in their midst and said, “Peace be with you.” ²⁷Then He said to Thomas, “Reach here with your finger, and see My hands; and reach here your hand and put it into My side; and do not be unbelieving, but believing.” ²⁸Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!” ²⁹Jesus said to him, “Because you have seen Me, have you believed? Blessed are they who did not see, and yet believed.”
Remember, there is also a great promise connected to believing.
John 3:36
He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”
I call on each one of you to believe all things which the Holy Spirit reveals to you in the Holy Bible. For we know that
Hebrews 11:1
Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, [and] the conviction of things not seen.
