John 1:4
In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men.
When we talk about life, most are in the first place thinking of breathing, and secondly of plant life.
Jesus is also speaking of eternal life.
Matthew 25:46
These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.
Many just understand this as a kind of life we have now, but without end. But it is much more than that.
● Natural life is the temporary existing, and physical functioning, of people, animals, and plants.
I said temporary, for one day it will end, and it will perish.
Genesis 3:19
By the sweat of your face you will eat bread, till you return to the ground, because from it you were taken; For you are dust, and to dust you shall return.
● Eternal life, on the other hand, is the kind of life that comes to existence, not from the flesh, but from the Spirit
Galatians 6:8
For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.
Spiritual life comes to existence from believing in Jesus, and from the relationship with God.
The spiritual life is the eternal life, it is life in the highest imaginable, and highest possible quality of life. It is a kind of life that is imperishable
John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
As I started to say, most people in the first place are thinking of breathing, and secondly of plant life.
▪︎ They think, that this is all there is.
▪︎ They think the life of human beings, and of what we further can see in nature is all there is.
People who hang on to these limited thoughts are often the same as:
▪︎ who do not believe in creation, but believe in the evolution theory.
▪︎ who do not believe in life after death
▪︎ who reject Jesus, the cross, the resurrection, and with it the gift of salvation.
When you believe in Jesus this eternal life is available to you.
You, may be sure of that, for the One Who gave you your present life, is the same God who is willing to give you the eternal life.
Accept this gift, and don’t be so foolish to reject it, for if you reject this gift, you surely are going to regret that decision later. Don’t allow any religion or believe system to deceive you.
Start following Jesus today, or in case you already are, continue to follow Him. And you will find at the end of the narrow way everlasting peace and rest in His Kingdom.
