If a man say, I love God,
and hateth his brother,
he is a liar:
for he that loveth not his brother
whom he hath seen,
how can he love God
whom he hath not seen?
Devotional
“O how I love Jesus!” we sing.
And Jesus responds by asking how well we are doing with loving our brothers and sisters!
We can’t love God if we can’t love those around us.
Prayer suggestions
Recognize that when you are unloving to your brothers and sisters in Christ, or even to others, that you are then unloving to Him
- Ask God to forgive you for the times you have harbored pettiness in your heart.
- Ask God to forgive you for the times you have been unforgiving to those who needed your grace.
- Ask God to help you when you’re working to reconcile relationships that have not gone well recently.
- Ask God to help these mended friendships to bring glory to Him and vitality to His Church.
