Matthew 6:33 NASB
But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness,
and all these things will be added to you.
The fallen man does not seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, for he devotes all his care and time to the things of this earth.
▪︎ How busy he is to get food and drink.
▪︎ How busy he is to provide for his daily livelihood.
The anxious question so often arises from the heart, What shall we eat, or what shall we drink, or what shall we clothe ourselves with?
The natural man is absorbed by the things below, even though he is at the evening of his life.
Has it by grace changed with you?
Have the things of this life become secondary?
Have you been made seeking, so the kingdom of God and His righteousness are your first concern?
The Lord will provide for such people also in temporal life: “and all these things shall be added unto thee.”
The Fatherly care of God is their portion.
Food, drink and clothing will be given to them as an encore, as it were. The Faithful and the Almighty takes care of His own in a perfect way.
