Matthew 6:34 NASB
So do not worry about tomorrow;
for tomorrow will care for itself.
Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Devotional
What is your concern for the future?
Where do you think about when it comes to tomorrow?
Is it with you as with the Gentiles, “What shall we eat, or what shall we drink, or with what shall we clothe ourselves?”
Do you worry about that?
Do these things make you restless?
- Fallen man wants to impose for centuries at a time in taking care of his interests.
- Fallen man literally are worrying about what may happen over 100 years, or at the end of the century, concerning the climate or an asteroid that may or may not hit the earth.
- He will leave no room for the providence of God.
- Fallen man doesn’t believe in God anymore, and so they also cannot trust in His protection.
Is all care condemned?
No!
▪︎ Here is not taught superficial optimism or inconsiderate carelessness.
▪︎ Here it is taught that those who may fear the Lord should moderate their cares. They should not look too far ahead in the temporary sense.
Whoever may seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness will share in the Fatherly care of God.
The Lord cares for the birds of the air.
He clothes the lilies of the field with resplendent glory.
The Lord knows what His children need.
He does not withhold from them what is necessary, and gives the strength that is needed.
