Now what is goodness?
It certainly sounds positive.
Goodness and charities are an extension of each other.
And charities abound. Bank accounts to do good on, are lining up.
Still, I think that by goodness is meant something more than depositing amounts into bank accounts.
That goodness is anonymous.
There is nothing wrong with that, but goodness is a better investment.
The Lord Jesus tells you to do good works, so that… the people will glorify your Heavenly Father.
So the point is not that YOU are praised as such a good person, but that people recognize the source from which your goodness comes.
So you can never be an anonymous believer, otherwise people won’t be able to recognize the source.
It’s actually a circle: because God is good to you, you do good to other people.
Thus they recognize God and give Him the glory. So that’s the point: the fruit of the Spirit is meant to give God the glory that He is entitled to.
