You are the light of the world.
Before the Fall there was no darkness in the heart and life of man.
He was light and spread light.
But because of the Fall, the light has been extinguished and a deep darkness has descended over his heart and life.
▪︎ It is dark in the heart and life, because of sin, iniquity, and idolatry.
▪︎ The darkness of hatred and enmity against God and neighbor reigns within.
▪︎ The darkness of the transgression of God’s Law.
At the pleasure of God, the Holy Spirit makes us discover that deep darkness in the heart and life.
What a wonder when the Lord is going to remove the darkness.
▪︎ That was acquired by the Son of God, Who passed through the three-hour darkness.
▪︎ He has acquired that for His Church. By the working of the Holy Spirit it may come, and it comes to spread light.
▪︎ The light of teaching and living according to God’s Word.
▪︎ The light of good works.
Do you see only darkness?
Or may your light, by grace, shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven?
