Matthew 2:11 NASB
After coming into the house
they saw the Child
with Mary His mother;
and they fell to the ground
and worshiped Him.
Then, opening their treasures,
they presented to Him gifts of
gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

And having opened their treasures, they brought him gifts of gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.
If you go on a maternity visit, you will probably bring a present.
I think that happens everywhere. But the nature of the presents may differ!
You probably wouldn’t be so quick to bring a live chicken, a bottle of milk, or a loaf of bread. While these are appropriate maternity gifts in some African countries!
The Wise Men also bring presents.
It shows that they are rich people themselves: after all, gold, frankincense and myrrh are among the most expensive things anyone could give.
But more than that, it says something about the One to whom they bring the gifts!
He is, after all, the born King of the Jews!
This means that neither expense nor effort is spared.
The birth of a King requires a generous gift!
Have you already paid a maternity visit to the born King?
Have you already brought a gift to Him?
I think you know what’s best to bring for Him.
More precious and beautiful than gold, frankincense or myrrh is the gift of your heart.
