Philippians 1:6
Being confident of this very thing,
that He which hath begun a good work in you
will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
It is natural to man that he begins many things in his life.
But that does not mean that he will finish them.
Sometimes we do our whole life over something, without even completing the work we started. This applies to both natural and spiritual things.
We sometimes plan all kinds of good things, but then get stuck halfway through. How many promises are made to the Lord in difficult and perilous moments and what comes of it?
This is not the case with the work of the Lord.
What He begins once He will also finish.
We can have that confidence.
If we are unfaithful, the Lord remains faithful, He cannot deny himself.
We see that fully with the Lord Jesus, Who begins His work to which He came on earth, and does not rest until He can say it: it is finished.
