Hosea 7: 7 NASB
All of them are hot like an oven,
And they consume their rulers;
All their kings have fallen.
None of them calls on Me.
Or in other words:
They are so angry that they killed their leaders.
They killed their kings.
All of their kings fell.
Nobody prays to me for help.
To give an example of this terrible disease, the following:
In the ten-tribe kingdom, one murder on the king follows the other.
When the king celebrates his birthday, or commemorates his coronation day, the invitees sit around his table with a friendly smile. They speak friendly, praise him, and drink to his health.
This is what the outside looks like.
But inside they are like a fiery oven full of glowing hatred towards him.
To the eye there is peace, but the fire of murder rages in their hearts, a murderous spirit controls their hearts.
Hardly does the drink make the king doze or the flames of destruction show up.
Israel acts if she is her own judge, and does not call on the Lord to judge.
But doesn’t that judgment belong to the Lord?
Do you recognize this ailment in yourself?
If so, who are you calling?
