Luke 12:12 AMP
The Holy Spirit will teach you
in that very hour
what you ought to say.
Imagine you have to appear in court today.
You have been summoned on suspicion of a serious offense: “you are a Christian”. Maybe this sounds very unreal. Still, you may be persecuted for your faith.
Someone once told how the early Christians in a simple village in Guatemala were mistreated and booed by their fellow villagers. Physical violence was certainly not shunned.
Unimaginable. It could make one desperate.
But would it really remain unimaginable in my or your country in the future?
Every time we read shocking news. God’s command is no longer tolerated. More and more you will have to justify yourself as a Christian. Is it not before a judge, it will be before friends or family members.
A doomsday scenario? Thank god it is not.
We may know that we are safe in Him.
He himself will teach us what to say.
Why then sometimes the embarrassment?
Or is there, perhaps more than we want to admit, an urgent need for the Holy Spirit?
