I really get upset when I see the massive amount of lies that so called “Christians” spread over the internet; even wrapped up in daily devotionals. These people who tell you these lies, and who call themselves “Christians”, “Pastors”, “Apostles”, and whatever other title they may have given themselves are leading you astray.
A few of the lies I saw recently are listed below and if you just use your brains you will be able to understand that the statements are not true.
● God is love, so He must love you, no matter what, or else He will cease to exist.
○ No, God is not forced to love you, He wants to love you. That is something different. But if you refuse His love, and forgiveness, you will end up in the place He prepared for satan and the demons.
● God’s nature is love, so it doesn’t matter how you live, He cannot do anything else but love you.
○ No, this too is not true. God hates those who do iniquity.
Psalms 5:5
The boastful shall not stand before Your eyes;
You hate all who do iniquity.
● Hell does not exist, for a loving God will not send anybody to a terrible place like that.
○ An other lie. Jesus warned us on many occasions for it using words like: being thrown out in the darkness, being burned with fire, and so on.
Revelation 19:20
And the beast was seized, and with him the false prophet who performed the signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image; these two were thrown alive into the lake of fire which burns with brimstone.
● God needs you, for without you He is no God.
○ No. God’s being God is NOT depending on you! He was God, also before He created mankind. God doesn’t need you, you need God!
● God wants you to be rich and enjoy multiple goods.
○ God wants you to be spiritually rich.
Jesus says in Matthew 6:19-21
¹⁹ “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth,
where moth and rust destroy,
and where thieves break in and steal.
²⁰But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven,
where neither moth nor rust destroys,
and where thieves do not break in or steal;
²¹for where your treasure is,
there your heart will be also.
1 Timothy 6:6-8
⁶But godliness actually is a means of great gain
when accompanied by contentment.
⁷For we have brought nothing into the world,
so we cannot take anything out of it either.
⁸If we have food and covering,
with these we shall be content.
● God does not want you to live in a house but in a palace. Do not be satisfied with just a house.
○ A lie that satan wants you to believe. Compare this to what Jesus said. Luke 9:58
And Jesus said to him,
“The foxes have holes
and the birds of the air have nests,
but the Son of Man has nowhere
to lay His head.”
And in 1 Timothy 6:8 we read:
If we have food and covering,
with these we shall be content.
● All sickness comes from the devil, so if you are sick or have problems in your body you must be demon possessed.
○ Not true! Sickness can even be to the glory of God. I can testify that people who have seen or heard about how God has saved my life multiple times started to follow the Christ because of it. God can use things that seem negative in our eyes, and make it work out in a very positive way. Even use it for the eternal salvation of others.
John 11:4
But when Jesus heard this, He said,
“This sickness is not to end in death,
but for the glory of God,
so that the Son of God may be glorified by it.”
● Just repeat this prayer, and you will be saved.
○ Not true. The "sinners prayer" is not a kind of magic formula to save you for eternity. To be saved you need to repent, be born again, and follow the Christ. It is a lifetime action! Not an action of a few minutes repeating a prayer after the minister.● If you just know God, He will fight for, rescue, and protect you. Knowing that He is God is enough.
○ Not true. Just to know God, or to know that He is God, is not enough! Satan knows Jesus and God, and maybe even better than some of us do, but because of satan's actions, and his attitude towards God, God will NOT fight for him, NOT rescue him, and NOT protect him. God will fight for, rescue, and protect you, but not based on knowing that He is God. To be under His protection you need to belong to Him, and you need to be following Him.
● There are other Gods who also care for you, so other religions are just other ways to Him.
○ No, there are no other Gods. In Isaiah 43:10 God says:
“You are My witnesses,” declares the Lord,
“And My servant whom I have chosen,
So that you may know and believe Me
And understand that I am He.
Before Me there was no God formed,
And there will be none after Me.”
○ No, there is no other way to the Father besides Jesus. John 14:6
Jesus said to him,
“I am the way,
and the truth,
and the life;
no one comes to the Father
but through Me.
Dear friends, please be careful! Do not accept everything what people (no matter what title they may have given themselves) are telling you. Many things of what they say is not true. Always compare their messages to what the Bible says. The Bible is the only line of action you should follow.
