Ephesians 3:16–17
That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might (with power) by (through) His Spirit in the inner man, [so] that Christ may dwell in your hearts by (through) faith, [and] that you, being rooted and grounded in love,
For all those who have made up their mind to follow the Christ, it becomes inevitable, that there will be spiritual growth, and that they will live in obedience to Him.
Every time when I called on you to follow the Christ,
▪︎ it was not only because I wanted you to have a great future to look forward to,
▪︎ it was not only because I did not want you to end up in Hell
▪︎ it was not only because I wanted you to live under the protection of God’s love,
▪︎ it was also because I wanted you to grow in Him, so He can share His wisdom and power with you;
• so you, on the place where you are, will be able to lead people to Jesus,
• and so you, in His time, will be able to share the love of God, and the fulness of the Christ to all who are willing to listen.
In a similar way as babies grow by drinking their mothers’ breastmilk, and are completely depending on the care they receive from their parents, Christians grow spiritually when they take to them the spiritual food that is given to them in the Bible, and when they depend, not on their own insights, but on God.
1 Peter 2:2-3
²like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation, ³if you have tasted the kindness of the Lord.
The more you grow spiritually, the more sensitive you will become to the indwelling of the Christ in your heart.
With growing spiritually
▪︎ you will also become rooted and established in love,
▪︎ your eye of understanding will be opened,
▪︎ you will start to comprehend the breadth, length, depth, and height of Christ’s love for all who follow Him, and particularly for you.
Dear friends,
▪︎ make up your mind to closely follow the Christ,
▪︎ make sure you grow spiritually,
▪︎ read your Bible, and have a close relationship with God the Father, Jesus, and His Spirit in you.
So you will grow, and become mature enough to take up your task in the Kingdom of God.
And remember that when God gives you blessings, that they are meant to bless others with them as well.
