Romans 3:23-24
²³For all have sinned, and come (fall) short of the glory of God; ²⁴Being justified freely (as a gift) by his grace through the redemption that (which) is in Christ Jesus
I have to admit, whenever I compare myself to a man, whose example we all should follow, I’m still a very bad imitation. “Who is this man?” You ask? Well im talking about Jesus of Nazareth.
Although I think it is a good thing to contemplate on how I live, and compare the way I live to the example the Christ gave, I time and again find out that it is a very difficult thing, to live like He did.
I know people will tell me that what I try is impossible because Jesus is the Son of God. And that it is impossible for us, to ever be like Him because He was created without flaws.
But are they right?
▪︎ Wasn’t there an enormous change when I got born again?
▪︎ Was my old stone heart not replaced by a new flesh heart?
▪︎ Was my mind not renewed?
▪︎ Is it really an impossible standard to reach?
Maybe they are right, but there is no other person who ever lived that I would rather be more similar to!
Ephesians 5:1
Be imitators of God, as beloved children
Prayer suggestions:
▪︎ Tell God how grateful you are that He did not only gave His Son to take the punishment on our sins upon Him, but that He also is a great example on how to live our lives, to us
▪︎ Ask God for forgiveness for still being so often selfish, weak, and acting against His will.
▪︎ Ask God to help you, to truly be a light in this dark world, that shines out His Gospel light.
▪︎ Ask God to help you go forward following your Lord and Savior.
▪︎ And thank God for His continual support in your life.
