1 Corinthians 2:11-13
¹¹For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God. ¹²Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God, ¹³which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words.
Every time you have to take a choice, God is making it easy for you. You get to choose out of just two choices.
▪︎ It is either accept, or reject.
▪︎ It is either good, or bad.
▪︎ It is either holiness, or sin.
▪︎ It is either heaven, or hell.
So also here is a choice between two.
▪︎ It is either the spirit of the world, or the Spirit of God.
The very moment Adam and Eve sinned against God, they actually made a choice
▪︎ A choice of selfishness – I want…
▪︎ A choice of pride – to be like God.
▪︎ A choice of possession – rather having knowledge, than a relationship.
▪︎ A choice of faith – believing the words of satan, above the words of God, their creator.
And that choice brought them in the realm of worldly things, and under the continual influence of satan.
They became, like we were, before we were saved, slaves of sin.
The evil spirit of the world that they gave dominion over them, made them behave like they did, and like we today see continually all around us.
Each of them blamed someone else for the sin they had committed.
Genesis 3:12-13
¹²The man said, “The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me from the tree, and I ate.” ¹³Then the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?” And the woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”
Al of us see all day long, and all around us, that the spirit of the world knows, and loves the things of the world. It loves the pleasures and the entertainment you find on the broad way.
It is also clear that it doesn’t want anything to do with God, because it is under the control of the devil.
BUT…
▪︎ The moment you decide to follow Jesus, the Spirit of God takes control in your life.
▪︎ The moment you decide to follow Jesus, you are given the rights to become children of God.
John 1:12
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name,
▪︎ The moment you decide to follow Jesus, you will be longing for righteousness
▪︎ The moment you decide to follow Jesus, you want to have a relationship with God, and know Him better every day.
The more time you put in your relationship with Him, the more He will open your eyes for all the things that He has given you.
